The Lady Redskins softball team recognized their 8th graders before yesterday’s last home game and wanted to thank the teachers that came out to show their support. These 8th graders went out with a BANG!!! The Redskins faced an UNDEFEATED Unicoi in the last 2 games of their regular season. Redskins were down 2-4 in the bottom of the last inning when Peyton Domby hit a missile to the fence, driving in 2 runs to tie up the game. Morgan Baker came up behind her and on the first pitch…..hit Peyton in TO WIN THE GAME 5-4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In the 2nd game, the Redskins were down 1-3 the last inning when low and behold, Peyton steps up to the plate with runners in scoring position. AGAIN….Peyton hits a missile to the fence to drive in 2 runs to tie up the game! Morgan Baker came up behind Peyton to AGAIN hit her in to go ahead in the game. Unicoi didn’t give up easy though, they came in to bat to tie up the game, which put us in extra innings. The Redskin team pulled together to score 5 RUNS to go ahead 11-6…which was too much for the Blue Devils. The Redskins won the 2nd game 11-7. It took total heart and total team effort for both wins. Hits by the Lady Redskins were as follows: Griffin-3 hits, with a lead- off double in the 2nd game; Kimmie-2 hits; Allie-3 hits, with 2 doubles; Reese-2 hits, with 1 double; Peyton-4 hits, with 3 double; Baker-2 hits, 3 RBIs; Trinity-2 hits; Sarah-2 hits.
